I went to an OfficeMax today while running an errand with a friend and left, having purchased only:
- three roller-ball pens
- two mini legal pads in a color that coordinates with said pens
- a teeny little stapler with built-in staple-puller and in-base staple storage
- and a flexible ruler that will be a sewing tool rather than an office supply.

I DID NOT buy the cute matched set of paper clips, binder clips, push pins, and magnets.
I DID NOT buy the floral-print acrylic clipboard.
I DID NOT buy the full-on architectural drafting kit. (Really thought about that one though.)
I DID NOT buy any of the notebooks and/or journals and/or blank books.
I DID NOT buy the paper cutter ("cute and useful but not $40 worth of cute and useful")

I spent $30 (most of which was the flexible ruler) but it could have been so much worse...
